Gratitude and Good News

Emmett

Emmett: We want you all to know how grateful we are for all the supportive emails,

the lovely tribute badge, comments and donations

when we lost our sweet Pip.

You are all amazing, wonderful friends and cannot know how much it meant to all of us.

Like Pip, I am a special needs cat too,

I have the wobblies, but can function just fine – thank you very much.

There is something about the special needs cats like Pip and I

that touches a tender place in our Mom & Dad’s heart.

That and being gorgeous mancat house panthers of course.

Emmett

Emmett: But today it is all about how gorgeous I am,

as well as some good news that Mom wants to share.

Take it away Mom!

GREAT NEWS!

HB 1818, which would create a civil penalty for Texas pet stores selling

puppies and kittens from puppy mills, is one step closer to

becoming a law as it passed through the Texas House, 85-54!

Cat Mom: Texas is moving forward on the humane treatment of animals;

most cities and towns have Spay & Neuter laws in place,

recognize the need and benefits of TNR,

and there are low cost clinics popping up all over the state.

Each step forward is such a victory for all

who have been fighting for these changes over the years.

Thanks to all who keep up with issues that they are passionate about

and get involved with their local and national politics

to make this world a better place for everyone.

Yay to all who recognize the importance of the phrase

‘Of the people, by the people for the people’!
