    Vet week

    Dudley

It has been a week of Vet visits.

We had Dora, BooBoo and PomPom in for spay surgeries.

Then one of our fosters had the sneezies and into the Vet he went.

    Dudley

We are so thankful for a Vet who charges reasonable prices

and will see a sick kitten the same day we call for an appointment.

Dr. Thomas knows as well as we do how fast a kitten can go down

and he makes sure they get treated right away.

We’re also so very thankful that Fort Worth offers free spay and neuter for all pets,

with reasonably priced vaccinations as well.

What are you thankful for on this Thankful Thursday?

    Kai story

    Kai

The first time I saw our Kai was when I was driving on the 4 lane boulevard

    that runs past our neighborhood.

She was a scrawny adolescent that was running at full speed

across all 4 lanes of heavy morning traffic.

I was screaming at the top of my lungs as I watched her,

terrified for this skinny black cat.

Somehow she made it through the traffic and up the grass

on the other side and hit someone’s back fence at full speed,

bounced off, shook her head and hopped up over the fence to safety.

    Whew!

    Elf and Kai

    About a week later,

that scrawny black cat showed up in our backyard, hungry and stressed.

After a while, she came to trust us and show her loving side.

We brought her inside and named her Kai (thinking she was a boy).

When we took her in for a neuter,

the Vet informed us she was a female and had a spay scar – oops!

    Kai and Meyou

    Kai’s nickname is ‘Mama Kai’.

When she takes to a little one she’ll bathe, snuggle and defend that kitten,

    just like their own Mama.

No one ever claimed our girl and we are so very thankful she is part of our family.

So that is the story of our Kai.

Isn’t she brave, beautiful and amazing?
