We are so very thankful for Betty White.

It was a terrible loss for the world when this bright light was extinguished.

She made us laugh, which is a tremendous gift in itself.

But she went further than that – she was a voice for animals.

Below are a few of the honors she recieved for her tireless work on the behalf of animals:

The American Veteranary Medical Association awarded White with its Humane Award in 1987 for her charitable work with animals.

The City of Los Angeles honored her for her philanthropic work with animals in 2006 with a bronze commemorative plaque near the Gorilla Exhibit at the L.A. Zoo and named her ‘Ambassador to the Animals’ at the dedication ceremony.
